High voltage components to get rid of! — I’ve been out of the world of HV for a while, just not enough time to play/build! I have accumulated a lot of parts, built several Tesla coils, high voltage caps, etc. I have a 10kVA pole transformer, synchronous rotary spark gaps, etc, and trying to figure out what the HV world is up to these days that people might find useful of this stuff. It seems like most of the Tesla coil action is with DRSSTCs now, but most of the stuff I have is oriented around SGTCs. I’m in the San Jose area, but a lot of the stuff is near Sonora, so preference would be to not have to move stuff much!

TRADE PLAN for Thursday 📈 $MU huge beat after earnings, it's up slightly after hours, needs to get through 1100 to see a breakout to 1250 during Q4 next. If it gets lower, you may try a different strategy for new purchases. Here’s what I do: A) Buy the lows and relevant dips with $TSLA (that’s for the future)… B) If it goes lower, start prudently building a $TSLL position (to calmly average down) that you WILL sell when mature. C) When you buy the other two, also buy $TSLW, set it to auto-reinvest the weekly dividend and let it go (it compounds well). 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 Same for SpaceX, except there’s no weekly dividend paying yet. I see no point in investing long in other companies, although a few of them will do great, of course (Nvidia, Palantir, Amazon, etc.). For the short and mid term it’s (real) AI compute power and mostly the crypto environment (no meme coins!) with the exact same strategy. Ex: $MSTR, $MSTX, $MSTW $COIN, $CONL, $CONW and others, plus some $BTC to hold till the peak of the cycle (if “cycle” still has a meaning). Which is better? (Or least worse!) — Just got my first house and one of the first things I'm sorting is installing a food waste disposal (I don't even have a wardrobe yet but I hate food waste smells that bad lol) The drain exits through the floor so I'm aware I'll need an AAV no matter what (at least from what Google says, but feel free to correct and save me the bother!). Question is how to best get that AAV into the system. Space constraints mean I need to have the rough layout in the pictures. U bend will go underneath and behind the copper, horizontal span will continue behind, then the 45° roll brings it forward and down to the drain. My two options seem to be either putting the AAV on the last part of the horizontal span, with it being protected from water by the angle of the Wye, or to put the Wye on a 45° roll instead and straightening out the AAV with another 45. Hospital Stay — Hi everyone, I’ve used Reddit for years but only used it within the past week as I’ve been in the hospital with a broken leg and fractured hip after a fall when walking my dog. My friends and extended family live at least an hour away and after my Mom passed earlier this year, my only caregiver is my Dad who struggles with cancer and health issues himself. The nurses have been so kind and do what they can to support me but I can’t order Uber and have no way of getting food or distracting tasks until my Dad comes next. I mostly need toothpaste and hygiene products as I’ll be here at least 2 months for recovery and rehabilitation. I have an Amazon wishlist and anything would be so appreciated. It became noticeable after the recent CS2 crosshair overhaul update. Around colored crosshairs I can see extra colored pixels / color bleed depending on the background. 3D Printed Halo Band — I have yet to meet an MR/VR headset that doesn't hurt. I have a long and bony nose, ok? And every headset wants to cut me. While excited by what the Steam Frame can mean for open VR platforms, comfort wise it's not any better than the rest (Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro being the primary platforms I've worked on most recently). Top straps never seem to help and I didn't even bother this time. I already use an Annapro A2 on the AVP and kkcobvr Q3 Pro on the Quest, and know that a halo design is what I want, but seems like it's going to take a while for Frame options to come out. Over the past four weeks: $MSTR added 2,615 Bitcoin. $ASST added 4,306 Bitcoin. Strive raised $304 million through $SATA. Strategy, meanwhile, bought back $641 million of its $STRC preferred. Just an interesting way to look at the capital flows between the two. Strive has had a fantastic September. Now I’m curious to see what this data looks like over the next four weeks in October. Sweet Spot? — Looking at the brand new BMW 3 series and reading all the opinions on the looks I feel like the real sticking point is the interior. It's a Tesla style interior, Big screen no buttons (second pic). I feel like our car's older I drive system combined with physical buttons and touch screen and rotary dial is the best of everything. $GOOGL is clinging onto its 50dma after rejecting 350 for the 100th time. A hold above the pika stack at 345 and you have a negative gamma stack up to 355. 360 does look like your absolute ceiling. 360 will also be the top of the TL, so a rejection can certainly be expected. Obviously price needs above 350 for anything to happen and at this point, it cant capture 350. If you want the safest trade, long over the 350 support confirmation and target 355 and 360 to the upside.

Resolution issue — Im curious how I can get this game running on a monitor that has 3840x2160 native resolution. I had it working a few weeks ago and I must have accidentally changed something. The launcher would launch in a small box but the game looked fine. Now when I run the game it launches in a small window. I tried editing the ini file, and changing to 1920x1080 but nothing seems to work. Or it will fill the screen but the text is tiny. I thought I did something in nvidia app to launch it at the res which fits my screen but cant seem to figure it out. It won't let me edit any pre launch res settings. Thanks for any help!

Battlefield 1% lows stuck at ~82 FPS with latest NVIDIA drivers — ​ Has anyone else noticed this with the latest NVIDIA drivers? My average FPS is completely fine. I'm playing at around 158 FPS on a 165 Hz monitor, but for some reason my 1% lows seem to be stuck at around 82 FPS. What's strange is that I'm using the exact same NVIDIA Control Panel settings that I was using with older drivers, and I didn't have this issue before. My current setup is: NVIDIA Control Panel V-Sync: ON In-game V-Sync: OFF FPS: around 158 Monitor: 165 Hz 1% lows: around 82 FPS I use V-Sync through the NVIDIA Control Panel because if I disable it, I get noticeable screen tearing. Has anyone else experienced something similar after updating to the latest NVIDIA drivers? I'm especially curious if anyone has compared the latest drivers with older versions and noticed worse 1% lows in Battlefield. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Everyone has midcurve takes once in a while (actually most have them a lot more), but I just am not feeling it with RH chain anymore tbh. It just feels overly centralised, focus will always be on $HOOD shareholders, plus they will be constantly under scrutiny from regulatory pressures and fiduciary duties. Of course in saying that, the same story goes for Base, and they at some point did cook, so who knows maybe there is a full RH szn before all my midcurve takes come to pass. RH has all the tools to deliver us the dream, don’t get me wrong.

new pc? — i’ve had the same prebuilt pc (my parents wanted me to get a prebuilt one instead of building my own at the time) since 2020, and it has been running terribly for the last 2 years or so. The temperature stays high, it’s loud, and overall just performs terribly. It has an intel i7, a NVIDIA rtx 2060 super, 16 gb ram, 225 gb ssd, 1 tb hard drive, and a water cooler for the cpu that my dad and i installed a few years ago to help with the temperature issues. i know parts are incredibly expensive right now, and i don’t know much about what’s good and what’s bad. is it worth upgrading at all or would it be better to just get an entire new pc?

Used car dealer claims to service polestar? — The other day i test drove a Polestar 2 at a used car dealership. They had a bunch of them 2024, low mileage, around $24k. At the time I knew NOTHING about Polestar, but I really liked driving it. Now I've learned a lot more about them, and I know there are limited service locations in the US, and they might not stick around with Polestar leaving the US market. The used car dealership has a service center and claim they have several people certified to work on EVs and even people trained on Polestar. Its a fairly large dealership and they had a lot of EVs (tesla and polestar mostly), but from what I've read I'm skeptical of their ability to service Polestars. Should I trust that this dealership could service the car if I bought it? I wouldn't be getting a warranty or anything anyway, so all Im worried about is finding someone who knows how to work on them for maintenance or if something goes wrong. I think I got robbed on this QQQ iron condor today 🤦‍♂️ — I think I can officially say I got robbed on that QQQ trade. I put on 40 iron condor positions around 1:30. My breakeven range was roughly 740–746, and QQQ stayed inside that range basically the entire time. Normally, if QQQ just chops around inside my range, I’d expect the contracts to lose value throughout the day because of theta. Instead, these contracts started increasing in value rapidly while QQQ was still sitting comfortably inside my range. I was sitting there thinking, “there’s no way this is happening 🤦‍♂️ I decided to hold because it was still within my breakevens. Then around 3:00–3:20, the contracts were STILL increasing in value even though QQQ hadn’t broken out of my range. Eventually Robinhood closed the positions for a loss, I look at my portfolio and it was showing the max profit at 3:55 before close but I still lost on it ??? I’m confused. Coinbase One has been charging me without permission. I never signed up. — For 24 months Coinbase has been charging me $29.99 for Coinbase One. Total charges of $749.75. I never signed up for a trial, I never agreed to be charged. I have a huge amount of other transactions so this one slipped through the cracks. I contacted customer support chat and let them know that I never signed up for a trial and they offered to refund 3 months ($89.97). They’ve basically stolen $750 and refuse to refund it. Any advice on how to proceed? I can see that this has happened to several other people. Perhaps a federal regulator I can contact?
